The NMC regularly supports shows across the country where breeders have the opportunity to show off all of their hard work and gain recognition for particularly stunning mice. The official show calendar is located on the NMC website.
I try to attend shows whenever I can, and I like to attend shows even if I'm not showing - it's a good way of making connections, gaining information from other breeders, learning about how showing works, and a fantastic opportunity to socialise with like-minded people who all share the same hobby or passion. They are always a good day out and if you are wanting to get into breeding and exhibiting mice then I would definately recommend attending a show before getting your mice so you get a feel for it..

For someone interested in getting to know the show routine I would also recommend stewarding - effectively becoming a judge's assistant for the day. Duties involve collecting maxey cages from each section and presenting them to the judges table, then preparing them for judging by removing the bedding and placing it behind the maxey or behind the open lid on the top of the maxey. Judging results also then need to be transfered to the show secretary.
